Graduate Admissions Requirements
To be admitted to the graduate program, the applicant must apply to and meet the admission standards of the Graduate School as well as other standards established by the graduate program in the Department of Human Development & Family Studies.
If you wish to apply to our graduate school, application material can be found at the following website: www.grad.uconn.edu. It is recommended that applications be submitted online but you can also download the application form and mail it to the graduate school. Please note that the fee to apply online is less expensive than application through the mail.
Required materials for application to Human Development &
Family Studies:
- Application (Departmental Deadline, January 15)
- Transcripts (from all institutions attended)
- Three letters of recommendation
- Personal Statement/letter of intent
- GRE scores are required:
Institution Code 3915 and Department Code: MFT 4603, HDFS 4602
Ph.D. Applicants:
In addition to the above materials, Ph.D. applicants are required to submit a scholarly writing sample (e.g. thesis, research-based paper or published article).
